Orange Power Wellies

The 2010 Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts is expected to take in 23 to 28 June, and these boots are made for running about, apparently.

According to a press release it is the Orange Power Wellies, and they have, in cooperation with experts from renewable energy sources for a single power of unique production GotWind been created, “which converts heat into electricity feet.

Say what now? You mean all that sweating of the feet to power something like a mobile phone can be used? Apparently yes. In fact, roams about 12 hours to get sufficient charge a mobile phone for about an hour. They want more power, then you would be better driving the legs. Seriously, use your feet warmer, the more power you can do.

This apparently uses the “Seebeck effect” with thermoelectric modules and P-type semiconductor n-type, a thermocouple built. “When the heat of the foot is applied to the surface of the ceramic plate, and the cold is applied to the opposite side of the cold floor, electricity is produced.”

It does not look like they are offered for sale, but it seems that the Orange Chill n Charge zone will be at Glastonbury Festival. I think you can check it.
