Mertz Active Vision Robot Head of the MIT

I saw heads before realistic Robot Vision Robotics Mertz active head, and they are generally designed to see how it would be if robots could see his facial expressions.

In this case, you may wonder why someone would design this robot head looks like a strange baby's head instead of a beautiful face.

In fact, the purpose of this robot is not test will react like a human, but what will the robot to react to the man. Check out more on this experience, MIT after the jump.

According to my source, Mertz is built to recognize and respond to faces and expressions of socially situated learning, looking similar to the learning process of a child.

In other words, one robot that can “learn” my son as a baby learns to recognize facial features and learn to talk by parroting around him.

Just as emotional expression she is able? Now I once heard that people have thousands of forms of expression on their faces, and I think Mertz is in a position 13 degrees of articulation in his neck alone. Who knows what his eyes and mouth in the position.

This robot is the creation of Lijin Aryananda and Jeff Weber at the MIT Media Lab. I hope it works experience, but if so, it seems, to learn that the machines can. Whoa, not sure I'm ready for it.
