Levytator takes steps to a whole new level

I'm sure you've found that using an escalator can still take it up or down, and straight.

The Levytator (pronounced like levitation or) is designed to take the stairs to a variety of sizes. As you can see in this picture, the stairs are very curved.

There is a video of this technology after the jump to see it demonstrated. You will see an escalator along a tree, and like one of those may go up, down, curves and even wash sidewalks.

The video gives me no indication how it works. As far as I know, is an indexing mechanism nothing but a tank track that move anyway to a staircase. The Levytator still manages to maintain his form throughout upright.

But as soon as they developed this technology, just think about how it would be cool, museums with moving walkways, stairs have so visitors can just relax and while the movement is done for them.

Hey, I had a crazy idea. Is it possible that the Levytator fork somehow? So if you go on a Levytator an exhibition of some of you could come to a fork in the road?

Oh, is it surprising to see what next for the escalators.
