Solar plane remains the air for 26 hours
Some of you may remember when we first discussed the Solar Impulse, and how he managed to make a long flight of 87 minutes at 5,000 feet. I have learned that the Solar Impulse has 26 hours in the air and reached a height of 28,543 feet.
I think I mentioned a few months ago they were waiting for a flight 36 hours to their next stop, and I'm not sure that he or reduced flight exceeds expectations.
Some of you are probably wondering how the Solar Impulse could his historic flight of 26 hours, if not 26 hours sunlight on a given day. The answer is simple: the batteries. I'm not sure whether these batteries have been loaded before or during the flight, though.
Anyway, this proves that solar power is a power source set to the respiratory tract, could change almost everything! Assuming that the program is still on the right track, there is a plan to get the Solar Impulse in 2012 worldwide.
Of course you realize that the Solar Impulse is a small aircraft with 12,000 solar cells, and a jumbo jet would all be much heavier. In other words, there are a lot of bugs to solve, before we fly a sky solar friendly.
