MIT Media Lab creates Invisible Mouse

I reported the other day how some MIT students have an interesting light on computer / table lamp called their Luminar, which shows how MIT some of the things I wish I had created.

It seems that the Pranav Mistry at the MIT Media Lab has created something even cooler than the laptop desk with the invisible “mouse”.

It “uses an infrared laser beam and an infrared camera to detect hand movements and translate them accurately into computer commands.

My source does not specify how the user controls the mouse invisible. I suppose if the user's hand into the side of the table in a given area, to move the cursor on their computer. I'm also suspect that the clicks by moving a finger, then by using your finger down.

Mistry is not decided, and mass produce and sell this product but it really should, because I was able to use something. He said that someone build this unit at a price of only $ 20. I think I can understand when to get an infrared camera and infrared laser combination for this price. Now all I need is an easy to read instructions.
