SMS Slingshot

Let's say I have this loop with the number key on it. What would you think it should do?

Perhaps a new type of phone, you dial the number and turn the cell phone tower next to get the best possible signal.

The truth is that this loop was designed to take text messages. Of course, you have to have a large screen and a projector to show messages, but the end result is a kind of pure. There is a video of it after the jump, which I strongly recommend watching.

As you can see, the people entering their message, and then pulls the loop to “Splash” on the big screen. It is a laser, to the cause that follow, where you have “goals” are, then you have a nice digital graffiti.

The appearance of a project by a group of journalists in Berlin, but that over all my source, “why” of this project. Honestly, I would love to have this experiment in Times Square in New York to see repeated, but I do not think the screen is a projection. Maybe something could be developed.

FedEx CEO sees a future robot plans

I'm sure most of you have seen, all the aircraft on the Fed Ex “hub” in the movie Cast Away. “Yes, they really need all these aircraft to place all of our cases are on the right side, and FedEx CEO Fred Smith was a better way.

His vision is simple: the robot plans. Yes, I know there are many security issues with these. Fred Smith is considering these non-autonomous aircraft that fly on their own to choose the location, but an idea of where a plane with a real human driver maintains a fleet of robots in the world and ensure that countries if they correctly to their proper destination. In other words, the planes that fly in V-shaped robots like geese with a plane of the man in the head.

Yes, it looks something like science fiction, but you know, there are several robots operate UAV drones for the Army. However, you should also know that you do not want drones fly over residential areas. FedEx will therefore have a lot of consent to remove such a thing to get.

In a similar story to some researchers at the Ohio Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, can robots to load and unload building airplanes. , I think we are on our way to the complete elimination of The Human Equation Shipping. This is not a good thing in the long term.
